What are the full washing costs per crate?
Limex has designed and developed a complete calculation tool for the washing of crates, trays and buckets. Every possible washing process variable has been incorporated into this tool.
This tool has been developed for:
- washing facilities that require complete insight into their operations. Using the tool provides precise insight into washing costs per crate, in terms of hourly, weekly and annual costs etc.;
- washing facilities that want to determine their all-in hourly rate;
- organisations (such as horticultural companies) that are undecided on whether to incorporate internal washing processes or outsource them. The tool allows you to make a complete and fair comparison;
- organisations that want to effectively manage the ‘off-peak’ hours of their personnel. How do you ensure that the working hours of your team are used more effectively?
- organisations that want to reduce costs related to the washing process. Can you save on water consumption, maintenance or chemicals? Our tool provides a complete overview.

A complete calculation tool
It is surprising how often we hear that our business partners have limited or no insight into the operational costs of their washing process. Costs related to the purchase or maintenance of a crate washing machine are obvious. But uncertainty arises as soon as we take an in-depth look at how it operates.
For example, how much does energy consumption cost per crate or per week? And what about water consumption? Personnel? Or (potential) transport costs? Waste disposal costs are also frequently forgotten.
We have developed a calculation tool together with our regular customers, which is based on our years of expertise and experience. A tool that provides complete insight into washing process operations.
Consider variables and outcomes such as:
- what is the unit price of the washed crate?
- what are the energy costs (gas or electricity) per washed crate?
- how much water is required per washed crate?
- how much soap is required per washed crate?
- how many personnel hours are required per washed crate?
- what are the transport costs?
- what are the costs of waste disposal?
- what are the costs of raw and auxiliary materials (from gloves to film)?
- what are the costs of administration, management and overheads?
A combination of variables
The combination of these variables provides complete insight into washing process costs. Please note: the data input relating to these variables must be in-depth and entered accurately, or submitted to us.
To illustrate: personnel costs vary per organisation. Energy costs vary per country and organisation. Logistic operations vary per organisation.
The complete delivery of our tool and/or input of data requires sufficient time, consultation and instruction. As a result, the calculation tool is only available on request.
